I have 18 years policing experience across South Yorkshire and five of those years have been spent in Barnsley or neighbourhood policing.
I have been working in Barnsley since 2022 and have really enjoyed getting to know the communities and meeting the people who live and work here. I am passionate about neighbourhood policing and see working with our partners to make Barnsley a safer place to live and work.
I have been pleased to see that this is a vision shared by the hard working and dedicated officers on our teams and that the local partners, communities, and councillors are eager to support this goal.
We use partnership working, along with a problem-solving approach to issues in order to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour while providing support in other areas of day-to-day life through signposting people to our partners.
Through our 'you said, we did' initiative and our online content we update you on work done in our area and on certain upcoming engagement events you may wish to participate in. If you see our officers on patrol please don't hesitate to stop and say hello, we are eager to hear from local people and those who commute into the area for work and recreation.
I look forward to working with our partners, local councillors and the people of Barnsley in the future.

DRUG ASSOCIATED CRIMINALITY & ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Anti-social behaviour, drug abuse and associated crime in the Old Town and Honeywell area of Barnsley.
YOU TOLD US
This is an area of Barnsley that was once a quiet and safe space for the residents. You told us it is currently rife with drug abuse and associated criminality and that this is bringing the area down.
WE LISTENED
Residents are dealing with open drug use, constant disturbances, property damage and the loss of peace and safety they once had which is frustrating those that live and work in the area. Community PACT meetings captured these concerns.
Issued 02 April 2026
WE TAKE ACTION
A significant number of warrants have been executed in the area to disrupt drug activities. Vehicles seized and an increase in stop and searches all ‘tailored and targeted’ to have impact in this area. Working in partnership with BMBC and others, key problematic addresses have been given significant focus and legislation is being used to curtail drug activities in these areas. This is sustained focus and we value the support of the community with these issues.
Housing have also enforced several evictions and closure orders on properties that are continued problematic addresses.

OFF ROAD BIKE NUISANCE & ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Anti-social use of off-road vehicles on Laithes Lane playing fields and surrounding estate
YOU SAID
Illegal off road bike use in this area is causing concern. It’s a worry about noise and potential danger riding on the estates and also the damage to communal grass areas such as the parks
WE LISTENED
You told us when it was happening and in some cases who was doing this. Community PACT meetings captured these concerns.
Issued 02 April 2026
WE TAKE ACTION
Regular off-road bike operations in collaboration with partners, utilising the Councils CCTV van and the South Yorkshire Police Off Road Bike Team as well as the use of drones and when available NPAS and Roads Policing Group proving great results.
There has recently been a decrease in the number of reports of this nature, however this remains a priority.
With partners we have visited offenders and prosecuted them, and they have been given warning and advice regarding their tenancies.
We value the continued support and information from our residents in the community. This support really pays dividends ensuring we plan correctly and get the right resources in the right spaces at the right time to have impact.
