Hello, my name is Lisa Bird and I am the Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team Inspector, covering Balby, Hexthorpe, Intake, Wheatley, City, Bessacarr and Cantley ward areas .
The team consists of three sergeants, fourteen police officers (PCS) and eight Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) who each have geographical responsibility for a geographical areas within the wards mentioned above.
If you see any of the team out on patrol please do stop for a chat and let them know what’s happening where you live, as this information is vital to help us understand what you need from us. It helps shape our priorities and gives us a better picture of life in the areas we police, allowing us to solve problems more effectively.
It is my honest belief that in working together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of our communities, developing on the work that is already in place.
Every month I will run Community Engagement Meetings where residents will be able to meet myself, officers and colleagues from partner agencies. This helps them identify emerging community issues or concerns which we can look to address. It also gives the opportunity to update local communities about the actions we are taking to address issues that have been raised.

We are having a number of conerns raised around careless and incosniderate drivers, causing ASB within the Herten triangle area of Doncaster. We are working in conjunction with our colleagues within Doncaster Council to address layout and access to these areas, along with dedicated actions around set times of the day when we believe these issues are occuring. Regular patrols are being carried out within the area and irresponsible drivers dealt with accordingly. Our patrols are reflective of the information provided by the community and are focused on education and subsequent action towards those intent on causing issues within our localities. Should you have any further information please report to SYP or Doncaster Council.

A combination of information from CEM, engagement events and crime figures has shown an increase in ASB and drug related criminality within Hexthorpe. The behaviours of a small number of individuals having a wider impact on the community and the necessity to come to together, working as a community to target the behaviour, educate those involved and take appropriate action where required.

A mutli partnership approach to issues of ASB and criminality have been underway for several months within Hexthorpe, however working with the communtiy we have built on our thoughts and brought together targeted activities based upon the infomration and intelligence provided by the community that both live and work in the area. Regular visible patrols, weekly drop in events, monthly CEM, schools engagement days, alongside direct Days of Action are having a positive impact on the community. We continue to monitor and adapt our working within the area, to ensure we meet the needs of our community and listen to their views. Please continue to report incidents and information through 101, online or via CrimeStoppers.
