South Yorkshire Police Sergeant NPPF Step 3 (In force selection process) March 2019

The force is seeking applications from Police Constables (Detective or Uniform) to assist in our quest to be the best and ensure the force continues to improve, delivering the highest quality service for members of the public. The process will be extremely competitive with only the very best candidates being successful.
Substantive Sergeants from external forces can also apply for this process as a transferee.
About the role:
As a Sergeant, you will play an intrinsic part in ensuring the public receives the very best service from us, by working proactively and collaboratively with colleagues. The key aims of South Yorkshire Police should always be at the forefront of everything you do.
We are looking for leaders who will:
- Motivate and inspire staff, engaging with them and implementing change effectively
- Have operational credibility
- Be able to drive, improve and deliver performance outcomes
- Be truly committed and passionate about the service provided to the public of South Yorkshire
The process will open on the 18th March 2019 and will consist of the following:
Step 1: Application
You will be required to submit an application form confirming you meet the criteria along with a copy of your last completed (signed off PDR) and a copy of your current live PDR.
Completed applications should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 09:00 12th April 2019.
Candidates who are supported will proceed to Step 2.
Step 2: Work Sample Test (via presentation) & Interview
Interviews will take place 16th May – 6th June 2019. You will be assessed against the Competency and Values Framework (CVF).
Full details of the process and criteria will be provided at a preparation briefing and will also be included in the Manual of Guidance which will be sent out with the application pack. This process is for candidates already qualified to NPPF Step 2/Both Ospre Part 1 and Part 2. Candidates who have recently applied for/or undertaken the NPPF Step 2 legal exam (whether previously qualified or not) will not be eligible to apply for this process.
We are offering two dates for the preparation briefing: Tuesday 26th March 9:00-11:00 at Niagara Conference and Leisure Centre, Niagara Road, Sheffield, S6 1LU OR Monday 1st April 16:00-18:00 at South Yorkshire Police Training Centre, Robert Dyson House, Unit 5, Doncaster Road, Wath Upon Dearne, S63 7EF.
