Bonfire Night is a great time for friends and families to come together.
Each year we see an increase in demand through 999 and 101 calls and incidents requiring our attendance.
Our officers will be on patrol in neighbourhoods for everyone’s safety, and our staff in the control room are already working hard and planning to deal with an increase in demand but we are urging you to do your part and help us to help you.
How can you help us? Tips on how to stay safe
Please remember that this is an extremely busy time for officers and call takers in the control room. We are asking our communities to think before you call 999 or 101. If you are wanting to report a non-emergency crime please do so through our website.
Leading the work during the dark nights period, Chief Inspector Gareth Thomas added: “Remember we are all in this together, we want everyone to have an enjoyable evening and to be safe.
“We have a zero-tolerance approach to anyone who poses a threat to someone’s safety, life, or property, which includes our communities and officers.
“Please be respectful, be careful, let’s stay safe.”
