CCTV image released following sexual assault in Barnsley

We are releasing a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with a reported sexual assault.

At 10.42pm on Saturday 11 October 2025, it is reported that a man approached a woman on Eldon Street, before sexually assaulting her and leaving the scene. It is further reported that the man walked to a taxi rank in the nearby area and got in a taxi around 11.15pm.

Officers have been conducting several enquiries since the report, including speaking to potential witnesses, obtaining statements, and trawling through CCTV. They are now releasing the below image of a man as it is believed he holds vital information that will help in their investigation.
