We are appealing for fresh information one year since the death of Sheffield man, Lee Wesson.
On Saturday 12 April 2025, around 8.30pm, we were called to reports of a disturbance on Knoll Close in the Stocksbridge area of the city.
Officers attended, and 34-year-old Lee was taken to hospital where he sadly died on 14 April as a result of his injuries.
An investigation was quickly launched by our Major Crime Unit, and throughout the past year several enquiries have been conducted including trawling through hours of CCTV and speaking to potential witnesses.
One year on from Lee's death, our officers are issuing a fresh appeal and is asking for anyone who has information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Adam Watkinson, who is the senior investigating officer on the case, said:
"Our investigation has been moving at pace over the past year as we work to determine the circumstances surrounding Lee's death.
"We are still appealing for anyone who may have witnessed something, or knows something about this incident to come forward. Any piece of information, no matter how small could be the missing part of this puzzle that we are looking for.
"We remain committed to uncovering answers and securing justice for Lee's family and loved ones. Our thoughts are with them on this difficult day."
Four arrests have been made in connection to the investigation so far. A 35-year-old woman, two men aged 30 and a 37-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder. They have been bailed while enquiries continue.
A post mortem examination has been completed and has come back as unascertained pending further enquiries.
