1. Where you have figures, the number of road traffic collisions in which
records show the Tesla Autopilot driver assistance system was active
before the collision.

2. Where you have figures, the number of road traffic fatal collisions in which
records show the Tesla Autopilot driver assistance system was active
before the collision.

3. For each fatal collision, if possible, could you provide a short description of
the incident, including who the fatalities were (driver, passenger, those in
other vehicle, pedestrian, etc)

We approached an analyst from Operational Support Unit, and they provided us with the following information:

The details for these questions are not held on our CRASH System. Therefore, the analyst has advised it does not make provision for such data - No Information Held.

Under Section 16 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, my duty to provide advice and assistance to anyone making a request for information.

Although excess cost removes the force's obligations under the Freedom of
Information Act, as a gesture of goodwill, I have supplied information, relative to your request, retrieved or available before it was realised that the fees limit would be exceeded.

regulations for the remainder of your request neither does it bind South Yorkshire Police to any commitment that it will release information in such a manner in the future.

1. It is not possible to answer this as the data is not recorded on our CRASH
system. The CRASH makes no provision for such information.

3. As Q2 is not possible, then Q3 is not relevant.

For 2023, South Yorkshire Police only recorded 7 collisions involving a TESLA make of vehicle and all these were INJURY not FATAL. In 2024 (YTD) SYP has recorded 6 collisions involving a TESLA, all INJURY.
