Response
We approached an advisor from the Health and Safety Team, who provided us with the information for questions 1-5 and 8:
1. Yes (some locations).
2. Yes e.g., response vehicles, police stations, internal and some external boxes
where stations can be accessed.
3. Internally stored AEDs = 14 / ARV Vehicles = 11 (approximately) / External of Buildings in box = 3
4. We have a variety at present but are working on just having Cardiac Science G5 and Lifepack 1000.
5. We are not aware of how old the AEDs are – No information held.
8. AEDs are purchased by individual districts and departments initially and then all consumables are purchased and replaced via the Facilities Management Department.
We then approached an administrator from the Estates & Facilities Management Team, who provided us with the answers for questions 6, 7 and 9:
6. We would only replace in situations where the unit is damaged or beyond economical repair.
7. Internal Maintenance teams.
9. Units are purchased on a 3 Quote basis when required due to the infrequency of ordering.
