Violence Against the Person Offences 2024

Request

Please provide, per month, the number of Violence Against the Person offences that occurred between 01/01/2024 to 01/08/2024, inclusive of those dates.

Please provide, per month, the number of Sexual Offences that occurred between 01/01/2024 to 01/08/2024, inclusive of those dates.

Please provide, per month, the number of Hate Crime offences that occurred between the 01/01/2024 to the 01/08/2024, inclusive of those dates.

Please provide the number Violence Against the Person offences that were reported between 28/06/24 and 12/07/24, and 29/07/24 and 12/08/24.

Response

We approached our Crime Management Data Returns Administrator for assistance with your request. The Connect System is used to record complaints or allegations of those matters, which the Home Office specify should be recorded as ‘crime’.

They provided us with the following explanation of their search criteria and the enclosed spreadsheet:

Q1 & 2. Criteria Used - Incident Created Date is between 01/01/2024 and 12/08/2024, SYP & crime only filter, HO Group Name is equal to VIOLENCE AGAINST THE PERSON, SEXUAL OFFENCES

Q3. Criteria Used - SYP & crime only filter, Incident Created Date is between 01/01/2024 and 01/08/2024, Racial Indicator is equal to / is in Y, or Disabled Indicator is equal to / is in Y, or Religion Indicator is equal to / is in Y, or Sexual Orientation Indicator is equal to / is in Y, or Transgender Indicator is equal to / is in Y

Q4. Criteria Used - Incident Created Date is between 01/01/2024 and 12/08/2024, SYP & crime only filter, HO Group Name is equal to VIOLENCE AGAINST THE PERSON
