1. For the last 12 months, month by month, how many random drink and drug tests have beenconducted by South Yorkshire Police?
2. And month by month how many officers have tested positive for drugs?
3. And each month how many have tested Over the prescribed limit to drive?
4. And each month how many have tested over the limit for policing purposes?

Please can you confirm if Q1 is members of the public and officers or just officers? Are Q3 & 4 for members of the public and officers or just officers only?

My request is for police officers only. All questions are for police officers only. It relates to the requirements from PSD for police officers to attend and give samples. I would like to see stats each month.

Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires South Yorkshire Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt), to provide you the applicant with a notice which:
a. states that fact,
b. specifies the exemption in question and
c. states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies.
The following exemption(s) apply to the disclosure of the information:
Exemption applied - Section 40(2) Personal Information
This is an absolute exemption and therefore a Public Interest Test is not relevant.
Reasons for applying exemption 40(2)
Section 40(2) provides that information is exempt if it is the personal data of someone other than the applicant and disclosure would breach any of the data protection principles. The term 'personal data' means data that relates to a living individual who can be identified. This may take an obvious form of'personal information' such as a name but can also include information which, if aggregated, can pinpointan individual. Due to request for data from about a specific topic and the low numbers involved, releasing a breakdown may potentially identify individuals involved and would breach data protection principles.
I am however prepared to release the below information without a monthly breakdown for question 4.
