Pay Increase Awards

1. I wish to submit a Freedom of Information request regarding the percentage pay increases awarded to Police Officers and Police Staff over the past ten years.
2. Additionally, I would be grateful if you could confirm whether there is any formal or informal agreement in place that governs the relationship between Police Officer and Police Staff pay.

I approached the South Yorkshire Police Senior Payroll, Pensions & Systems Manager for assistance with your request, who provided the following information and advice:

| 2018-2019 | 2% | +2.0% on all pay points |
| 2019-2020 | 2.50% | +2.5% on all pay points (and standby allowance) |
| 2020-2021 | 2.50% | £700 on SCP7; 2.5% or £500 (whichever greater) on others |
| 2021-2022 | 0% | Staged Award: 2021 – £250 <£24k; 2022 – +2.1%; Re-opener – +£1,900 |

Question 2
Police Officer pay is determined through recommendations made by the independent Police Remuneration Review Body (PRRB). Police Staff pay, on the other hand, is negotiated separately through the Police Staff Council, which includes representatives from trade unions and employers.
There is no formal agreement linking the two, but Police Officer pay outcomes are often considered during Police Staff pay discussions.
