Welcome message from the Neighbourhood Inspector Chris Scanlon

My team currently covers Hellaby & Maltby West, Maltby East, Bramley & Ravenfield, Wickersley North, Thurcroft & Wickersley South, Rother Vale, Brinsworth, Dinnington, Anston & Woodsetts, Aughton & Swallownest, Aston & Todwick and Wales.

I know this past year has been incredibly difficult for everyone, but there is now a light at the end of the tunnel and my team and I are very much looking forward to seeing the return of some sort of normality. I want to work closely with local people in the area and it’ll be fantastic to start doing face to face drop in sessions again.

The team are hardworking and committed to working with partners in the area to make sure we tackle the issues that matter most to you. Please get in touch with us with any questions, problems or ideas you have. We want to hear from you.

A team shot of twenty male and female officers lined up. Some are in all black uniform, some are wearing high-vis vests.

You want us to tackle off-road biking in the area

We did...

In Rotherham South we regularly receive complaints from worried residents about the illegal use of off-road bikes. We work closely with our off-road bike team and conduct targeted activities to tackle the problem. We are currently jointly working with our colleagues from Rotherham North NPT around a particular issue on Silverwood Pit Top.

Speeding is an issue in the area

We did...

You frequently tell us that speeding is a problem in your communities. We listen to these reports, and respond by conducting speed checks along those routes where you say you want to see more speeding operations. We recently, following feedback, conducted a speed watch operation in Anston where over 150 cars were checked, with only five over the speed limit. The details of these will be passed to our Safety Camera Partnership colleagues.

We’ve recently started to host surveys online so you can tell us exactly where you want to see us!

We regularly hold meetings on our social media accounts. Take a look at them to find out when we will next be live.
