Sussex Police – Operation Asteroid
Police Now and Student Officers-
Surrey Police – Operation Annexe
Investigations-
Northumbria Police - Operation’s Eclispe and Antumbra

The winners were awarded the highest scores in each category for their demonstrated use of scanning, analysis, response and assessment methodology to identify and introduce problem-oriented initiatives to create long-term solutions to issues faced by the police, partners and the community.
Sponsor of the Problem Solving and Crime Prevention Programme, ACC Lauren Poultney, commented on the success of the finalists: “I would like to congratulate all of the category winners of this year’s Tilley Awards, and wish them the best of luck with their presentations at the National Problem Solving Conference in September.
ACC Poultney added, “There is no denying that the circumstances over the last year have brought new challenges to policing and partnerships. Despite this, what we’ve seen in this year’s Tilley Awards submissions is excellent examples of how police forces and partner agencies have adapted to the operating environment and used problem solving techniques to really make a difference to communities.”
This is the third year the Problem Solving and Crime Prevention Programme, previously called the Problem Solving and Demand Reduction Programme, has held the Tilley Awards, after it was relaunched by the programme in 2018.
The Tilley Awards form part of the Programme’s, body of work to transform ways of working across the police and partners at a local, regional and national level, by embedding problem solving as a core discipline.
The Programme is led by South Yorkshire Police on behalf of all police forces across England and Wales. For more information on their work, visit www.southyorkshire.police.uk/find-out/problem-solving-and-crime-prevention-programme/ or follow the Programme on Twitter- @PSCP_Programme
