THE CURRENT CADET RECRUITMENT HAS NOW CLOSED

Letters have now been sent to all applicants to advise if they have been successful in obtaining an interview or not.

If you receive a letter offering you an interview please confirm your attendance as soon as possible.

Interviews will take place on 15 and 22 May 2010.

Successful applicants will commence on 31 August 2010.

Cadets are ambassadors for South Yorkshire Police (SYP) acting as mentors and role models within their communities.

The overarching aim of the cadet scheme is to:

• Give responsible, civic minded young people a positive experience with South Yorkshire Police
• Develop positive relationships with the next generation of adults
• Provide young people with an opportunity to develop themselves within an established   

framework based around law and the police

• Encourage young people to act as peer role models as they represent the South Yorkshire
