Woman in hospital after Totley shooting incident
Police are appealing for information after a shooting incident in the Totley area of Sheffield yesterday evening, Tuesday 16 February.
A 49-year-old woman was taken to hospital having sustained an injury to her lower leg after officers responded to reports just before 9.30pm that a firearm had been discharged at an address on Totley Hall Croft.
Three other family members, all men, were at the property but were unharmed in the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Zaf Ali said: “We have launched an investigation into this incident and appeal to the public for information. Initial enquiries suggest that up to three men were involved using a dark-coloured 4x4 vehicle.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity around Totley Hall Croft yesterday evening to call the incident room at West Bar Police Station on 0114 2964171 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
“This type of crime is very unusual in the Totley area. At this stage of our investigation, we do not believe this was a random attack and will be working with partner agencies to reassure any members of the community who have concerns.”
