Appeal for information to fatal incident in Tickhill

Police are appealing for information following a fatal incident this morning in Tickhill.

At 5.45am today (Friday 3 February) a silver Hyundai Trajet was travelling along the A60 Castle Gate towards Maltby and is believed to have left the road on its offside and mounted the pavement. The Hyundai has then hit a shop, continued along the pavement and crashed into a bollard at the junction of St Mary’s Gate. The car has then crossed St Mary’s Gate and stopped against another bollard.

The driver of the Hyundai, a 60-year-old man from Maltby, sadly died.

Boy seriously injured after collision near Doncaster Dome

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in a collision with a car outside The Dome leisure centre in Doncaster.

Officers believe the boy ran across traffic through a pedestrian crossing on Gliwice Way, from the ASDA side of the carriageway towards The Dome, at around 5.40pm last Friday, 27 January.

As he ran across the road, the boy was involved in a collision with a red Peugeot 206 travelling towards Bawtry Road from Lakeside Boulevard, causing him to be thrown onto the car’s bonnet.

Witness appeal after man dies in Brightside Lane collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died when his car was involved in a collision with a bus on Brightside Lane in Atlas, Sheffield.

The collision happened just before 9.15pm yesterday (Saturday, 28 January) 150 meters the city side of Woodbine Road near a railway bridge.

Renewed police appeal after Goldthorpe man dies in collision

Police are re-appealing for information into the death of a Goldthorpe dad a day after his family and friends attended his funeral.

A service was held yesterday morning at Ardsley Crematorium for 56-year-old Peter Topping.

Investigating officers believe that Mr Topping was lying on Co-operative Street, Goldthorpe, at around 8.15pm on Thursday, 29 December, when a vehicle drove over him causing serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital, but staff there were unable to save him.

Woman sustains life-threatening injuries on A1M

Police are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A1M at the weekend which left a young woman with life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened at 4.48pm on Saturday, 21 January, on the southbound carriageway near to Tickhill, Doncaster.

Witness appeal after pedestrian hit by a car in Barnsley

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries, last night on Whinby Road in Barnsley.

At 9.45pm on Thursday, 19 January, a blue Ford Ka, was travelling along Whinby Road towards to M1 motorway, when it struck the man who was crossing Whinby Road towards Dodworth.

The 21-year-old man, from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, sustained a fractured skull and is being treated in Barnsley District General Hospital.

The 41-year-old woman, driving the car, was from Wakefield and was not reported to have been hurt.

Witness appeal after man collides with taxi on Sheffield Parkway

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 19-year-old man suffered serious injuries at the weekend on the A57 in Sheffield.

At 2.35am on Saturday, 14 January, a taxi, a black BMW 320D was heading out of the city on Sheffield Parkway. At the junction with Derek Dooley Way, the 19-year-old man ran into the road and struck the bonnet and windscreen of the BMW.

The 19-year-old man, from Sheffield, sustained a serious head injury and is being treated in Northern General Hospital.

Witness appeal after man sustained serious injuries in Barnsley crash

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 55-year-old man suffered serious injuries yesterday, on Westwood New Road in Barnsley.

At 3pm on Thursday, 12 January, a red fire truck (similar to a fire engine) was travelling along the A61 Westwood New Road towards Tankersley when a silver Vauxhall Combo van came out of Wortley Road and into the path of the vehicle.

The fire vehicle collided with the van and the force of the impact caused the van across the carriageway and into the junction with Hollingberry Lane.

Appeal for man to come forward after Glossop Road crash in December

Police investigators are appealing for the man who helped the18-year-old woman after she was hit by a bus on Glossop Road in Sheffield, on 14 December, to please come forward.

This man gave initial first aid to the woman at the scene before paramedics arrived.

He is described as being a white man, aged between 30 and 40-years-old. He has short hair and was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision.

Re-appeal on fatal hit and run in Barnsley

Fifty-six–year-old Peter Topping died from the injuries he sustained when a car ran over him on Co-Operative Street, Goldthorpe on Thursday, 29 December.

At around 8.25pm last Thursday, Peter Topping, from Goldthorpe, is believed to have been lying in the road on Co-Operative Street when an unknown car drove over him.

The car is thought to have continued along Co-Operative Street and then turned right into Doncaster Road.
