Police chopper drops in on school in Balby, Doncaster
South Yorkshire Police helicopter visited Waverley Primary School in Balby, Doncaster, to show pupils the range of services and skills in the police force.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Gavin Barr arranged for the helicopter to land in the school field.
The entire school turned out to see SY99, giving life to what many children only see on television. Pupils and staff saw the technology that help the helicopter crew locate criminals, for officers on the ground to catch.
PCSO Gavin Barr said, "This event will be talked about for a long time, at the school and in the community. People are fascinated by SY99 and love to see it up close."
A teacher from the school commented, "It was fantastic, the kids and the teachers had an amazing time."
