Edlington SNT addresses antisocial behaviour
Two girls have been referred to a behaviour scheme as part of an ongoing operation in the Edlington area.
Operation Alamein is part of Edlington Safer Neighbourhood Team’s (SNT) efforts to address antisocial behaviour.
At 6.50pm on July 9, officers responded to reports of antisocial behaviour at a bus stop on Edlington Lane, Warmsworth.
Officers witnessed two young girls kicking the seating at the bus stop causing damage less than £500.
The two girls, both 15-years-old were arrested for causing criminal damage to a bus stop. One of the girls received a reprimand and the other girl received a final warning.
Both girls were referred to Doncaster’s multi-agency Antisocial Behaviour Contract (ABC) plus scheme, which addresses antisocial behaviour issues to encourage behaviour that is more appropriate and to support the individual and their families.
PC Simon Kirkham from the SNT, said: “Most young people are no trouble whatsoever, but there are a few who act antisocially.
“We are finding that members of the community have more confidence in reporting such matters to the police. Edlington SNT are determined to deal with antisocial behaviour in the Edlington and Warmsworth areas.”
Local resident, Maureen Tennison, added: “Mindless actions such as this need to be dealt with robustly. We’re pleased that Operation Alamein has been put in place along with the highly popular dispersal orders. The SNT dealt with this incident really well.”
