Armthorpe SNT delivers SmartWater
The SNT visited every home on Park Avenue in Armthorpe, Doncaster last month to ensure all residents had marked their valuables.
The colourless, odourless liquid marks items with a unique DNA style chemical formula. Invisible to the eye, it can be applied on all types of household items. The liquid glows under an ultra violet light, consequently identifying to police any stolen items and the handlers of the stolen goods.
The team sent letters to the whole street, informing residents of the service they would be delivering through the police community support officers and Doncaster Council community safety wardens.
Police Sergeant Wayne Goodwin said, "Now the team are based in Armthorpe we have the opportunity to deliver services at a local level quickly and efficiently. This is only the start and we will increase the number of households with SmartWater in the community."
Street signs were erected to show that households on Park Avenue have SmartWater.
Smartwater is currently still available free of charge to all areas of
Doncaster, while stocks last. To receive your kit contact 01302 736000 or email smartwater@doncaster.gov.uk.
