Armthorpe Safer Neighbourhood Team receives community award
On Thursday 29 January safer neighbourhood team (SNT) officers attended a community meeting known as Partners and Communities Together and while they were there, they were presented with a special award for their work in the community.
The award was from the Regional South Yorkshire Neighbourhood Watch as part of their annual awards.
Armthorpe SNT moved to a local base in the grounds of Armthorpe Comprehensive School on Mere Lane in September 2008, to enable them to be closer to their communities.
Councillor Peter Farrell, District Coordinator for Neighbourhood Watch said, "This award was given to our safer neighbourhood team in Armthorpe for their tireless efforts to improve our lives. We are constantly having members of the community tell us how things are improving and long may this continue."
Sergeant Wayne Goodwin said, "It is a privilege to be recognised by people who represent our community for our efforts in improving the quality of life for residents. We have a committed team in Armthorpe who concentrate these community issues."
