Police are appealing for witnesses after a masked offender assaulted a young woman in Firth Park, Sheffield.

The 21-year-old Asian woman walked from Cammell Road into the park where she was approached by a man wearing a balaclava. 

The man threatened the woman with a weapon and started to attack her but was startled and escaped towards Firth Park Road.

The 21-year-old received facial injuries as a result of the incident, which happened at around 9am yesterday morning, Friday June 26.
