Police in Sheffield are appealing for the public's help in tracing a man who robbed a 74 year-old woman in the Dore area of the city.

The incident took place at 3.50pm on Tuesday 7^th April 2009. The elderly woman was walking along Savage Lane towards the shops in Dore Village. The pensioner then turned off Savage lane and cut through a gennel, at which point a man approached her, pushed her to the ground and snatched her handbag.

The offender is described as white, 17 -18 years old, of a medium build, with short black hair,wearing a dark blue top, and dark coloured trousers.

The pensioner was left with minor cuts and bruising to her hand, and very shaken from her ordeal.
