Police are appealing for information or witnesses after cash was stolen from a man.

The incident took place on Tuesday September 1 at 11.30am on Lound Side, Chapeltown, close to the Spar and Yorkshire Bank.

It is believed the complainant was pushed from behind and a bag he was carrying containing a quantity of money was snatched from him.

The offender then ran towards the Barnsley platform of Chapeltown Railway Station.

The suspect is described as between 5ft 8 and 6ft and was wearing a coloured hooded top.
