Further appeal following Broomhall shooting
Detectives have released further information following the murder of 22-year-old James Kamara (photo left).
At around 6.30pm on Wednesday, July 1, emergency services were called to Brunswick Street, Broomhall, Sheffield, after residents reported hearing shots being fired in the area.
James Kamara was taken to Northern General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Initial post mortem results revealed James, from Pitsmoor, died from multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Three other males sustained gun shot wounds.
A 23-year-old from the Broomhall area of Sheffield suffered minor injuries and was released from hospital. A 21-year-old from Sheffield who suffered serious injuries is still in hospital. His condition is described as stable. A 20-year-old from Sheffield was treated for minor injuries and released from hospital.
The offenders are believed to have fled from the scene in a silver Vauxhall Vectra, registration plate FJ52 GWP, and travelled through the Broomhall estate on Collegiate Crescent, Park Lane and Clarkehouse Road.
The car was later found abandoned and partially burnt out behind a public house off Whitehouse Lane, Walkley, later that evening.
Anyone who saw the Vectra after 6.30pm on Wednesday or knows anything about the vehicle is urged to contact the incident room on 0114 296 3497.
Police are also keen to speak with anyone who witnessed an incident near to Devonshire Green, Devonshire Street, which occurred at approximately 5pm the same evening.
Glasses were allegedly thrown when two large groups of males are believed to have confronted each other. The groups of men were thought to have been involved in a verbal dispute near Devonshire Green. The incident is believed to have lasted around five minutes.
