Police Appeal for witnesses to an assault in Wincobank

Police investigating an assault, which left a 51-year-old man with serious facial injuries are appealing for witnesses or information from the public.

The incident happened at around 03.30am on Sunday 04th January 2009 on Wincobank Lane in the Grimesthorpe area of the city.

The 51-year-old was walking home after a night out when he was approached by a group of five or six men. He was then assaulted by a number of these men, who punched and kicked him, leaving him with injuries to his face that required stitches.
