Police appeal following an assault in the Birley area of Sheffield
Police are appealing for information from the public following an assault on a man in the Birley area of the city.
The incident occurred at around 11pm on Saturday 24 July 2010 on Birley Moor Road. A 38-year-old man was assaulted as he made his way home from a night out.
As the man approached a bus stop opposite the shops on Birley Moor Road, he engaged in conversation with three males.
A short time later as he arrived at the junction opposite Hopefield Avenue, it is believed the same three males assaulted him. As a result, he sustained a serious head injury and was conveyed to hospital.
The three suspects all aged approximately 17-years-old are described as.
First male - white, blond hair, 5ft 8ins tall, he was on a BMX bike.
Second male - white, brown hair, 5ft 9ins tall, also on a BMX bike.
Third male – black, around 5ft 10ins tall.
