Suspended sentence for cannabis cultivation in Barnsley
A 27-year-old man has been jailed for growing cannabis in the Royston Safer Neighbourhood Team area.
Wayne Trevor Parrish, of Calabria Grove, Measborough, Barnsley, was found guilty at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday 16 April 2010 of producing 10 cannabis plants at an address in Athersley South and five plants at a property in Measeborough Dyke.
The offences relate to 5 November 2009.
Parrish was sentenced to 36 weeks imprisonment, suspended for two years. He was also given a 12-months supervision order, a six-month drug rehabilitation order and ordered to pay £400 costs.
PC Howard Rhodes, of the Royston SNT, said: “Working with members of the public we will do our best to stamp out cannabis production in Royston.”
