Do you know these boys?
Police are asking for help to identify these youngsters seen riding off-road bikes illegally on land off Engine Lane, Grimethorpe and Monument Drive, Brierley.
On Saturday 17 April as part of an on-going operation, Cudworth Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) spent the day patrolling areas to deter and catch anyone riding off-road vehicles in the area, an issue which is currently a PACT (partners and communities together) priority.
The males pictured were seen and failed to stop for police.
Sergeant Steph Smith said:“We would like the help of the public to identify these individuals to prove that such activities will not be tolerated by police. We will continue to focus on the issue for as long as it remains a PACT priority and urge anyone who sees an offender to contact us immediately.”
As the weather becomes warmer, more and more people are buying and using off-road bikes and quad bikes on private and public land throughout Barnsley, something which is illegal. Such activity not only destroys natural landscape but also creates noise pollution disrupting the quality of life for local residents.
There are currently no legal places to ride off-road vehicles in Barnsley and anyone found doing so faces having their bike seized.
