Nuisance motorcycles seized in Wheatley

After receiving complaints from residents about nuisance motorcycles in Wheatley and Intake, the local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been conducting operations to tackle this.

Officers from the Wheatley and Intake Safer Neighbourhood Team put on extra patrols in the areas identified and visited addresses to talk to people who were riding their bikes inappropriately.

A bike from an address in Wheatley was seized under the police reform act 2002 for being driven in a careless and inconsiderate manner.

Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Ryan Moseley said: “We want to remind anybody riding their motorcycles in an inconsiderate manner that it could lead to the vehicle being seized. There is a fee that has to be paid to recover the vehicle or it could be crushed. We will continue to conduct operations like this to reinforce how dangerous it is to ride motorcycles inappropriately.”
