Appeal for witnesses to serious collision in Maltby

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision which has left an 82-year-old man with a serious head injury. 

At approximately 10am this morning (Saturday, 21 August), a red Ford Fiesta was reversing on waste land on Elm Tree Road, Maltby, Rotherham, when it was in collision with a pedestrian. 

The Fiesta is then reported to have struck a wooden fence and a detached concrete garage. 

A car parked inside the garage (a blue Peugeot 307) is thought to have been pushed, along with the concrete garage, and stopped several metres from a nearby house. 

The pedestrian, an 82-year-old local man, was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital with serious head injuries and cuts to his arms. 

The driver of the Fiesta, a 52-year-old woman from Tickhill, Doncaster was not hurt.
