Unprovoked attack on 47-year-old man on Moorgate Street, Rotherham
Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a 47-year-old man from Broom was assaulted on Sunday 18th July, just before midnight, outside Oxley and Coward on Moorgate Street.
In what appears to be a completely unprovoked attack, a man approached the victim and punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground where he lost consciousness.
A passing member of the public called for an ambulance and the victim was taken to Rotherham District General Hospital where he received treatment for serious face and head injuries.
The suspect is described as a white male in his late teens, early 20s wearing a grey hooded top with grey jogging bottoms. He was about 5ft 10in tall with a slim build and short dark hair.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who saw what happened, or has information about this incident.
