Police appeal for witnesses after indecent exposure incident on Hard Lane, Kiveton Park

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a 62-year-old woman was confronted by a man exposing himself.

The incident happened Tuesday, 8th June at about 1:40pm on Hard Lane, Kiveton Park.

The victim, who is from the Harthill area, was walking along Hard Lane, towards Harthill and as she was approaching the brow of the hill that runs up from the electricity substation, a white transit van with blue writing on the side pulled up on the grass verge just in front of her.

A male driver got out of the vehicle and moved to the rear of the van out of sight. As the victim passed the van, she noticed the driver exposing himself in front of her.

The driver did not say anything to the woman or attempted to touch her. The woman continued to walk past and after a moment or two when she eventually looked back at of the driver, he had returned to his van and driven away.

The driver is described as a white man, 25-35 years old with short dark hair. He is approximately 5ft 8in – 6ft tall with a regular build and was wearing a blue polo shirt with short sleeves and dark trousers.

There was a lot of traffic at the time of the incident and it is likely that someone either walking or driving along that part of the road saw what happened.

A 36-year-old man from Sheffield has been arrested in connection to this incident and has been bailed pending further enquires. Officers are eager to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any information about this incident.
