Appeal for witnesses to a robbery

Police investigating a robbery on a bus in the Walkley area of Sheffield are appealing for information from the public.

The incident happened at around 6.10pm on Monday 12 April 2010. The driver of a number 52 bus was parked up at the bus terminus on Heavygate Avenue, when a man wearing a face covering, boarded the bus and threatened the 24-year-old driver, making demands for his takings.

A bag containing an amount of money was handed over to the offender, who then ran from the bus along Heavygate Road towards Greenhow Street. He is described as white, in his late teens or early twenties, about 6ft tall, of slim build, and spoke with a local accent. He was wearing a dark green or grey zip up hooded top, a similar coloured beanie hat with a peak, and a scarf covering the lower part of his face.
