Pedestrian suffers serious injuries in A61 collision
Police are appealing for witnesses after a pick up truck collided with a pedestrian in Sheffield around 12noon yesterday, Saturday, 17 July.
The Mitsubishi L200 pick up truck was travelling in flowing traffic on the A61 Hoyle Street heading out of the city when a 22-year-old man is believed to have run into the road from the nearside pavement close to the Meadow Street junction.
It is thought the Mitsubishi attempted to steer around the man but collided with him in the road.
The 22-year-old pedestrian, from the local area, was taken to the Northern General Hospital suffering serious head injuries and minor cuts to his body. He was detained in hospital overnight.
