Witness appeal after mobility scooter collision in Woodhouse

An 83-year-old man is in hospital with serious injuries after his mobility scooter collided with a car in Woodhouse.

The local man was riding the red scooter on Revill Lane just after 4pm yesterday, Thursday 15 April, when the vehicle’s battery drained.

He then put the mobility scooter into free wheel but while attempting to move the vehicle it has run down the hill, collided with a silver Vauxhall Astra parked on Beaver Hill Road, and then hit a tree, causing the rider to come off the scooter.

The 83-year-old man is currently detained at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield after sustaining injuries including cuts to his legs and hands, swelling and bruising to his right eye, chest pains and a facial fracture.
