Police appeal after Barnsley teenager assaulted
South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information or witnesses after a teenage girl was assaulted on a secluded footpath in Barnsley.
The incident occurred as the 16-year-old girl walked her dog along a path between High Lee Lane and High Royd Lane in Hoyland Swaine, Barnsley, at about 5.30pm on Thursday 13 May 2010.The girl suffered a head injury.
Police believe she was attacked by a white man, about 5ft 8 and of slim build. He was wearing a distinctively oversized black top with the hood up.
After the assault, the suspect ran off in the direction of High Lee Lane.
