Police appeal after man dies in Mexborough crash

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information after a 22-year-old man died in a collision today, Friday 13 August, 2010.

At 12.40pm a blue Ford Mondeo, carrying three men, was travelling along Mexborough Road in Doncaster towards Bolton on Dearne when the driver lost control about 100 metres from the Mexborough side of Common Lane and crossed the carriageway on the off-side. The car travelled along the verge, into a dyke and hit a lamppost and tree.

The 22-year-old male driver, from Bolton on Dearne sustained fatal injuries. His 18-year-old front seat passenger, also from Bolton on Dearne and 19-year-old back seat passenger, from Thurnscoe, suffered slight injuries and were taken to Rotherham General Hospital but later released.
