Police raise £2000 for charity in community event
Kendray and Worsbrough Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) and Ward Green Working Mens Club raised over £2000 for Help for Heroes with an organised charity event held on Saturday, 12 June.
Around 350 people visited the event to see an array of fundraising activities held throughout the day including a tug-of-war, bouncy castle, bungee equaliser, all day disco, army paintballing and hog roast. Members of South Yorkshire Police, including Kendray and Worsbrough SNT were also present to meet and greet attendees.
PCSO Lisa Lloyd said: “The day was a success and we were able to meet and speak with lots of locals who turned out to enjoy the facilities. Events like these are important for us to introduce ourselves to the public and emphasise the fact that we should be familiar faces in their area, there to offer advice and support.”
