Chief Constable Stephen Watson tonight (Thursday 13 April) hosted the first of several interactive neighbourhood policing consultations in South Yorkshire, and now further events across the county have been announced.
The force wishes to thank those who attended at Mexborough Library to share their views on what neighbourhood policing means to them, and to take part in a live, interactive survey.
The session helped to gather views and concerns from people across the community, which will inform an internal review of the force’s neighbourhood service.
Changes will then be agreed and implemented – taking views into consideration - to ensure the force provides a more efficient and effective service for our communities.
Chief Constable Watson said: “It was an enjoyable event in Mexborough, with members of the local community sharing their views and opinions on neighbourhood policing in their area with us. We are committed to providing the best service we possibly can for them.
“We are keen to work with the public in the very early stages of our local policing review, to ensure we listen to views, establish what a new neighbourhood service means to communities and enable us to take an informed approach to future change.
“I look forward to meeting with many people from across South Yorkshire at these initial roadshows, to further understand how we can better provide them with the service they require.”
During each event, updates will be posted on Twitter via the @syptweet account, using the #MyPoliceMySay hashtag. If you cannot attend the roadshows, please tweet us your views and we will capture these.
