I represent the Aga Khan Isamaili Community of about 125 people in Sheffield and am looking at re-locating our current community hall from ??????????? Tinsley, Sheffield, ??????? to ?????  ????????????, Sheffield, ?????????. We would like to request the current and past 6 months crime figures for both locations.

Accordingly I must issue the following in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act, 2000: -
I can confirm that South Yorkshire Police does hold the information you have requested. However I am unable to supply that information.
Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 requires South Yorkshire Police, when refusing to provide such information (because the information is exempt), to provide you the applicant with a notice which:  
states that fact,
specifies the exemption in question and
states (if that would not otherwise be apparent) why the exemption applies.
By virtue of Section 2(3) of the Freedom of Information Act, 2000 the exemption applicable to the information is “absolute” in that it falls under section 21. This states ‘Information which is reasonably accessible to the applicant otherwise than under section 1 is exempt information’.
