Reference number:
2010053
Request date:
05/2010
Response date:
11/05/2010 (All day)
Request details:

Under the Freedom of Information Act, please could you provide details of all incidents in the past two years (financial, calendar or 24 months dating back from now - whichever is more convenient for you), where your force has received complaints from members of the public, businesses, other public services or other organisations that your PCSOs have not responded properly or satisfactorily to a "call out".

This may include incidents where your staff have declined to carry out a requested task or job.

Please could you also provide a brief response on behalf of your service, to explain or justify your position in each case.

(5th May 2010 clarification)

I asked for details of complaints from members of the public, businesses, other public services or other organisations that your PCSOs have not responded properly or satisfactorily to a "call out".

I'd like to amend that so it reads "complaints from members of the public, businesses, other public services or other organisations about PCSOs."

Exemptions Applied:

None.

SYP response:
  • 1st April 2008- 31st March 2009: 6
  • 1st April 2009- 31st March 2010: 1

These complaints were all from members of the public who were dissatisfied in the manner in which they were dealt with.

There were no complaints recorded in relation to any of our PCSO’s declining to carry out a requested task or job.

The Freedom of Information Act does not require us to express or collate opinion on the information that you have been provided. We are only required to source information that is already recorded.
