Hackenthorpe Lodge, the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), offers free support and practical help to anyone in South Yorkshire who has experienced sexual abuse. The service is completely confidential and you do not have to give any personal information in order to get help.
We use a range of the facilities to gather evidence from people subjected to sexual violence, including all forensic medical examinations, crisis support and a room where the video interviews can take place.
These services are not just available for victims who have reported a crime to the police; members of the public are able to refer themselves. A safe environment is provided for you to be able to talk about your situation with fully trained staff, as well as providing information on reporting the crime to police and referrals to other agencies on your behalf - if this is something that you would find beneficial.
